Sherry Shipman Endorsed by WeAreFrisco.org

Frisco, March 9, 2012

WeAreFrisco.org proudly endorses Sherry Shipman for 16th District Court Judge in Denton County (Republican Primary).

Sherry has shown real leadership in the conservative movement. She has been proactively involved for many years and her body of work speaks for itself. In the following synopsis of her career, you will easily see why she received the WeAreFrisco endorsement.

As a former criminal prosecutor, she not only brings strong legal qualifications and experience to the 16th District Court, but she also brings a proven track record as a conservative leader.

The 16th District Court is an active trial court with general jurisdiction over criminal, civil, and family law cases calling for a capable judge with extensive courtroom and jury trial experience. For the past thirteen years, Shipman’s legal career has been devoted to courtroom practice. She worked for one of the most prestigious law firms in Fort Worth in their civil litigation section and was later a criminal prosecutor in Denton County representing the State of Texas against criminal defendants in over 60 jury trials.

As a prosecutor, she litigated jury trials under the Family Code to terminate parental rights in circumstances where children had been severely abused and neglected. For the past eight years, she has been in private law practice obtaining successful results assisting clients in business, civil, oil & gas, and labor areas of the law. For the past five years, she has served as the managing partner in her own law firm.

The 16th District Court needs a solid, conservative judge who will protect our values and our freedoms. A judge should follow the law – not make law. As a conservative judge and a strict constructionist, Sherry Shipman will not hear a case and attempt to manipulate the outcome, but will listen to the facts and apply the law fairly.

Sherry Shipman is a graduate of Denton High School, University of North Texas, and Texas Wesleyan School of Law. Over the years, she has amassed a long and very impressive list of academic, civic, and professional accolades and, without question, brings proven experience and proven conservatism.
